Questions & Answers

What time is check-in?

You will receive an email notification one hour before the event begins, prompting you to complete a self-check-in. If you are unable to do so, staff will be available at the Nash Theater to assist you.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in Lots 1 and 2. Accessible parking spaces are located in the Visitor Lot directly in front of the Event Center.

Is this a full day event?

No. The program starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. in the Nash Theater, and all breakout sessions will end at 12:30 p.m.

What breakout sessions are available?

Discover Honors College at RVCC

Location: S015 Time: 10:30am to 10:50am | 11:30am to 11:50am 

This session will focus on the Honors College application process, eligibility criteria, graduation requirements, and transfer opportunities after leaving RVCC.  Attendees will leave the session having a much better idea as to whether or not Honors College is the right fit for them! 

Navigating Financial Aid 

Location: Atrium Time: 10:30am to 10:50am | 12:00pm to 12:20pm 

Join us for an enlightening session during which we demystify the financial aid process. Discover the different federal and state grants, loans, and scholarships available to you at RVCC. We'll guide you through each option, ensuring you have the knowledge and confidence to secure the financial support you need for your educational journey. Achieving Your Goals as an Adult Learner

Returning to college as an adult has many benefits. Earn College Credit in High School  

Location: S017 Time: 11:00am to 11:20am 

Early College offers high school students a unique opportunity to earn college credits before graduation, giving them a head start on their college journey. This program not only saves families time and money but also helps students gain valuable experience and confidence in college-level coursework. Learn how dual enrollment can pave the way for academic success and future opportunities. 

 

Academic Accommodations with Center for Accessibility & Inclusive Education

Location: S018 Time: 11:00am to 11:20am 

Learn how to request accommodations at RVCC. This session is especially helpful for students who had an IEP or 504 Plan in high school and are transitioning to college support services. 

 

Start at RVCC, Transfer Seamlessly  

Location: S016 Time: 12:00pm to 12:20pm 

This breakout session will highlight how transfer services can support students in successfully transitioning from community colleges to four-year universities. We’ll discuss the role of personalized advising, credit transfer assistance, and other resources designed to make the transfer process easy and help students thrive at their new institution.  

Secrets to Success in Online Learning

Unlock the secrets to becoming a successful online student! Learn how to stay organized, manage your time, connect with your instructors, and take advantage of the support available to you. Get practical tips you can use from day one to stay focused, confident, and on track toward your goals.

Inside RVCC Arts: Studios & Creative Spaces Tour 

Bus pick-up at Theater Entrance Bus Depot every 30 minutes 

Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm

Workforce Training Center Tour  

Bus pick-up at Theater Entrance Bus Depot Time: 10:30am | 11:30am 

A tour of the Workforce Training Center provides visitors with an in-depth look at the hands-on training facilities designed to prepare students for careers in high-demand industries such as Cosmetology, Automotive Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and Environmental Control/HVAC. 

STEM (Science & Engineering) Tour

Meeting Location: Theather

Time: 10:30 am 

This tour, led by the Dean of STEM, Dr. Sarah Imbriglio, will include our modern labs, exciting research areas, and information about our STEM programs. Get ready to discover amazing science and see the innovative work happening at RVCC!

Guided by RVCC student ambassadors, the tour highlights areas of interest such as libraries, dining halls, and recreational spaces, providing a firsthand look at campus life.
